  1. If you were asked to explain how the sin of Adam affected us, how would you answer?
  2. Is it “fair” that we are affected by the sin of Adam?
  3. In 5:13-14, Paul offers proof for his assertion that we suffer the consequences of Adam’s first sin.  Summarize his argument.
  4. How was Adam a “pattern” or “type” (5:14) of Christ (5:15-19)
  5. What did many receive through Adam’s sin and through Jesus – 5:15?
  6. What resulted from the offense (sin), and what resulted from the free gift – 5:16?
  7. What reigns through Adam’s sin and what reigns through Jesus – 5:17?
  8. How was Christ’s act of redemption greater than Adam’s act of transgression? (5:15-19)
    What is the “righteous act” or “obedience” of Jesus?
  9. What effect did the law have – 5:20?
  10. Yet what abounded even more?
  11. What reigns through Christ – 5:21? How is this related to what reigns in 5:17?
