Sermon Notes

Date: 03/15/2026

Preacher: Josh Peglow, pastor

Series: Colossians

Key Text: Colossians 4:2-6

Description:

Devote yourselves to prayer.

Stay alert.
Stay thankful.

And walk wisely
toward those who are outside.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues our study in the book of Colossians, where the apostle Paul reminds us that the Christian life is never meant to turn inward.

Those who belong to Christ are not called to spiritual passivity,
but to a life of watchful dependence upon God
and wise engagement with the world.

Prayer is not peripheral.
And proclamation, not optional.

The Christian bows before God in dependence,
and stands before men with gospel clarity.

Because when the church is preoccupied with prayer
and faithful to make Christ known,

God opens doors,
the gospel goes forth,
and He receives all glory.

Discussion Guide:

Use of this guide is designed to help you think about Pastor Josh’s sermon. It is for both individual reflection, as well as group discussions like family worship. My prayer is that it will allow you to dwell longer, and meditate more, upon God’s holy Word and will be fodder for sanctifying conversations.
