Preacher: Josh Peglow, pastor

Series: 1 Peter

Key Text: 1 Peter 2:21-25

Description:

He was pierced through our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.

— Isaiah 53:5

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues with our study in 1 Peter, in which we come across a passage that Peter masterfully weaves the rich descriptions of Christ as The Suffering Servant, we see in Isaiah 53, into his epistle and expands upon it into application as to how we ought to live.

Servants in Submission to Their Sovereign (part 3) [1 Peter 2:21-25]

April 19, 2010

Sermon Notes

Date: 04/18/2010

Preacher: Frank Acevedo, elder

Series: 1 Peter

Key Text: 1 Peter 2:21-25

Description: The Good Shepherd is one of the thrusts of Biblical scripture. This illustration encompasses many ideas, including God’s care for his people and his discipline to correct the wandering sheep. The tendency of humans to put themselves into danger’s way and their inability to guide and take care of themselves apart from the direct power and leading of God is also reinforced with the metaphor of sheep in need of a shepherd.
