And welcome to our Scandia Bible Church Good Friday Service for the year of our Lord, 2024.

We invite you to pull of a virtual pew and join us as we reflect on the selfless words of our Lord and Savior… words meant for us — to teach, to comfort, to give us hope — even as he was undergoing the horrific death of crucifixion.

For it was a *GOOD* Friday…

…but only because Sunday would be the GREATEST day of all!

Avg Guy: I’ve never understood why they call it GOOD Friday?!

I mean, Jesus died on this day! It should be “BAD Friday,” right??

SBC Host: It was indeed a *bad* Friday. For Jesus — though He was innocent — was unfairly beaten, tortured, and killed. He was a beloved Teacher, Leader, Mentor, and Friend to many. So, yes, if you were there, it was a “bad” Friday.

…But three days later, that all would change.

Because it would become UNDENIABLY clear, that this Man who was unfairly beaten, tortured, and killed… did so on OUR behalf. He stood in our place, so we wouldn’t have to.

This “Bad Friday,” became GOOD… when those who realized that this beloved Teacher, Leader, Mentor, and Friend… was also the Lord God Almighty — the Creator of the Universe.

yes, my soul, ’tis He….

Good Friday… a day that would only be considered “good” 3 days later. But until then, it was the darkest day in all of Christendom.
