Description: There is perhaps no one in the mind of the Jew who has as much distinction as Moses:
He was miraculously saved as an infant, raised with royalty, sent to liberate his people, and spoke with God face to face — not to mention that he was the writer of the Torah, as well as the mediator of the Old Covenant.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Hebrews and concedes that it’s a pretty long resume that put Moses in this position of honor.
But then in steps Christ who brings a better covenant …and in order to argue this position, the author of Hebrews demonstrates that Jesus is superior to even the great covenant mediator, himself, Moses.
Description: The word ‘Ebola’ is now on every newscast. If you are in an area where the disease is active, the idea of personal hygiene to protect your health, and perhaps even your life, is very real. Centuries ago God spoke of the need for washing and used it as an illustration of the cleansing needed for sin.
Description: In this morning’s passage, John responds to the second of three errors found in this section. All of these errors have to do with a false view of sin. The first error essentially taught that sin doesn’t matter, whereas the second error teaches that sin doesn’t exist. The seriousness of these errors is that it undermines the atonement and robs the Gospel of it’s Good News.
