Paul encourages the Corinthians not to be like those infiltrating the church, who are focused on outward appearances and not on the heart.
Rather, the Love of Christ should be the controlling influence of our of lives in everything we do… because Christ gave His life for us, and we should live for Him.

Yes, the cross serves as a merciful word of comfort to Christians of God’s finished work but, to the unsaved, a stark shout of danger.
