The Holiness of God [Exodus 15:11]

Description: The cross: a Christian symbol evoking comfort and love for many, many people. But for some, it stands as a graphic warning sign declaring danger ahead.

Today on Scandia Bible Church podcast, Elder Keith Barker exhorts that the cross is SHOUTING that God hates our sin — so much so that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to pay the price for it by hanging on the cross. His blood was a ransom for us — freeing us from an eternity separated from Him, our loving Heavenly Father.

Yes, the cross serves as a merciful word of comfort to Christians of God’s finished work but, to the unsaved, a stark shout of danger.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Genesis and shows us that this “friend” was Abraham. And one of the ways this friendship was manifest was when God took him into intimate council before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah – an act in which we not only see God’s reassurance to Abraham of His justice, but we also see a glimpse into an intimacy that foreshadowed, if even in a small way, the intimacy that Christ purchased for us.
