Description: October 31 has historically been celebrated in the church as Reformation Day yet most Christians don’t even know that Reformation Day exists — to them, October 31 is simply Halloween. We have forgotten the great men who risked their lives for the sake of the gospel and have left us a legacy of Christian freedom and who God used to recovered the gospel of grace. In today’s sermon we answer the question “Is the Reformation over?” and explore the five solas which function as the pillars of Reformation doctrine.
Notes:
The 5 Solas
Sola Scriptura (“by Scripture Alone”)
Sola Fide (“by Faith Alone”)
Sola Gratia (“by Grace Alone”)
Solus Christus or Solo Christo (“Christ Alone” or “through Christ Alone”)
Soli Deo Gloria (“Glory to God Alone”)
Faith and Works
Roman Catholic View: Faith + Works → Justification
Reformation View: Faith → Justification + Works
The Formula
Scripture Teaches:Salvation is by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, to God’s Glory alone!
Description: Christians live to do the will of God and fulfill the obligation of holiness, love, and service in the power of the Holy Spirit — and thus bring glory to God.

Paul now prays that the Ephesians understand these great truths. Many of these truths are ones that Paul struggled in understanding until confronted by the resurrected Lord. We will answer the following questions in this message:
Description: To be armed with the mind of Christ is to be equipped with the most powerful weapon available to Christians. With the right attitude toward sin a Christian will prevail until the end.
