Sermon Notes
Date: 10/25/2026
Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor
Series: Matthew
Key Text: Matthew 6:25-34
Description:
Consider the birds of the air.
Consider the lilies of the field.
…Do THEY worry?
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast,
Pastor Monty Simao continues our study
in the Gospel of Matthew —
where Jesus confronts the futility of worry
and calls His disciples to a different kind of security.
We plan.
We prepare.
We try to anticipate what tomorrow might bring.
But somewhere along the way,
responsible preparation can all too easily become anxious obsession —
as though the future rests entirely in our hands.
Yet if our heavenly Father provides
for the birds and the lilies,
how much more will He care for His own children?
And if He has already given us His Son,
what does that tell us about His faithfulness?
Perhaps the answer to tomorrow’s worries
begins with remembering
Whose hands hold tomorrow.

This guide is designed for both individual reflection, as well as group discussions like family worship. My prayer is that it will allow you to dwell longer, and meditate more, upon God’s holy Word and will be fodder for sanctifying conversations.
