Questions:

The following are questions to help you think about the sermon, as well as offer a set of discussion questions for family worship, or gathering together in other settings. My prayer is that these questions will allow you to dwell longer, and meditate more, upon God’s holy Word and will be fodder for sanctifying conversations. — M.S.

  1. What kind of righteousness is provided in the Gospel? (3:21)
  2. What kind of righteousness can never be ours? (3:21)
  3. How and when was the righteousness of God first made known to mankind? (3:21)
  4. How has this righteousness of God been made available to mankind? (3:22)
  5. How is this righteousness of God given to us or made our own? (3:22)
  6. For whom is this righteousness of God intended? (3:22-23)
  7. Verses 24-25 describe God’s act of providing righteousness for mankind.  In your own words define these characteristics of His work for us:
    1. Justified
    2. Gift
    3. By His grace
    4. Redemption
    5. Propitiation in His blood
  8. How did God’s act of providing Jesus Christ for us demonstrate His justice? (3:24-26)
