Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 12/06/2020

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Hebrews

Key Text: Hebrews 2:1-4

Description:

Avg Guy: Wow the book of Hebrews is amazing!

SBC Host: How so?

Avg Guy: Well for starters… the whole author and release details are shrouded in mystery. And then the book doesn’t waste any time and gets right to the good parts, talking about how God speaks and all! And then we learn how Jesus is the Heir of All Things, the Agent of Creation, the Hight Priest, and that He is infinitely superior to the angels! I can’t wait to read what’s next!!!

SBC Host: A Warning.

Today on Scanida Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Hebrews and shows us how at the head of the second chapter, we encounter a warning — and it’s one that we cannot ignore.

The warning, actually, is the peril that comes from ignoring:  Ignoring the Gospel. Ignoring the salvation provided for by God. Ignoring the Revelation from God, the apostles of Christ, and the testimony of God the Father.

To ignore these things is to put yourself in eternal peril from which no man escapes.

Preacher: Peter Montoro, guest pastor

Key Text: 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Description: Temptation. We all know what it’s like to face it – and we all know what it’s like to give in to it.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, we’re pleased to welcome back to our pulpit guest preacher Peter Montoro from Westside Baptist Church, as Pastor Monty and his family take a much needed break to connect and mourn the loss of their child, Isaiah Gregory.

In our message, Pastor Peter reminds us that when it comes to temptation, the Scriptures teach – though we will never be safe from falling – we are always enabled to stand when, instead of looking to ourselves, we look to Jesus.
