…And removes Joshua’s filthy garments, and clothes him in righteousness.

Holiness is an EFFECT – not a cause. Often, people believe that they need to “get better” in order to qualify for salvation. That in fact is, nothing is more impossible: the flesh cannot “Christianize” the flesh… because holiness is of the Lord.

But if that’s the image that comes to our minds, we have missed the richness and wonder of this command. As we look at the opening verses of Genesis Chapter 2, we will see the beauty and understand more clearly what Jesus meant when He said that the Sabbath wasn’t made for man, but man for the Sabbath.
Description: The Good Shepherd is one of the thrusts of Biblical scripture. This illustration encompasses many ideas, including God’s care for his people and his discipline to correct the wandering sheep. The tendency of humans to put themselves into danger’s way and their inability to guide and take care of themselves apart from the direct power and leading of God is also reinforced with the metaphor of sheep in need of a shepherd.
