Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Revelation

Key Text: Revelation 19:11-16

Description: Everyone of us pictures Jesus in some way in our minds. Oftentimes, though, these pictures come more from pop culture than they do Scripture.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Revelation and shares that no matter what your picture of Jesus is, it likely falls short of the vision John received in chapter 19.

You see, if your picture of Jesus is “Jesus meek and mild,” then you might do a double take when He — the mighty Warrior King — comes galloping into battle on His white horse with robe dipped in blood.

Preacher: Kris Baines, guest pastor

Key Text: Philippians 3:12 – 4:1

Description: There’s no doubt we’re living in challenging times — times in which there is an unprecedented effort to marginalize Christian values.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, we welcome back our Down Under pastor and pianist friend, Kris Baines, to share the encouraging message that though we face challenge, with Jesus, we can remain unshakable.

For though the world — like never before in recent history — now celebrates and normalizes things the Bible condemns as wicked, sinful, and perverse, we as followers of Jesus Christ are called and empowered to “keep going and stand firm” in our Christian walk.

Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 10/06/2019

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Revelation

Key Text: Revelation 18

Description:

Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit…

And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, “Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.”

It’s the funeral of Babylon the Great…the funeral of the Harlot.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Revelation in which we see in chapter 18 the world watching from a distance the funeral service of Babylon, lamenting that their cash cow has met her demise.

“Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!”

But the saints are also watching, and they are rejoicing that God has judged the city that has made itself drunk on the blood of the martyrs.

Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her.
