Description: It’s easy to become fascinated by the topic of End Times. The challenge is that many respected theologians disagree about this section of the Book of Revelation. Today we will present one view and seek to support it from other Scriptures. And while this view may not agree with yours, if the result of listening to this message leads you to further study, then the time is well spent. The caution, however, is that good is often the enemy of best. …And the in-depth study of Christology is always the best.
Description: Our culture in America places great value on the knowledge that comes with a college education. From a financial perspective it nearly guarantees your life earnings will increase. The Bible, though, tells us to study for knowledge, but to askfor wisdom. There’s a difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is acquired through study, but wisdom is something that is given. You can’t get wisdom just by obtaining that precious college degree, because wisdom is a gift of God.
Description: To our amazement the year 2015 suddenly ended, and we are now knee deep into 2016. Perhaps this is a good time to plan a strategy for the coming months. God’s word has given us many examples of how to successfully transit into a new year. The story of the 12 spies exploring the Promised Land gives us some insights into how God would have us move into the coming year.
Description: Things go from bad to worse for a Hebrew woman named Naomi. Her family suffers from a famine and moves away from the Promised Land to live among the heathen Moabites. Her husband dies and then both her sons die – leaving her widowed and childless in a foreign country.
Description: Every new day for a Christian is another chance to walk in the excitement of the Lord Jesus’ promise that He is going to come again to call us into His presence. If that doesn’t put a smile on your face then you should open the Scriptures and soak in them until you find that blessed inner joy.
A song has the words:
“…And the things of life will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”
If you haven’t realized that yet, maybe this message will help make it personal for you.
Description: Paul reveals to us the “Reason for the Season” in a simple statement that summarizes the Gospel in his letter to the young pastor Timothy.
Description: Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, we welcome a preacher whom we rarely see, but hear all the time: Jim Allen. In today’s sermon, Jim turns to Colossians 3 as a point of reference for recognizing that when we are raised up in Christ, our earthly death in the eyes of God is really of very little significance.
“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. (Colossians 3:1-4)”
Jim pastored our little country church from the late 1990’s to 2003. You can listen to our ever-growing archive of his sermons in our SBC Classic Edition (Check the right hand column of our website to see what’s currently available). You can also find the “Present Day” Jim Allen on his blog at GraceForLaw.com, where you can listen to some of his more current sermons.
Description: Every Christian has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit of God; that’s what it means to be “born again.” Here at Scandia Bible Church, we believe in the total sovereignty of God. In today’s message on Elijah and Elisha we will see that, in ministry, there is a need beyond being appointed unto salvation. To be active in ministry it’s also necessary to be anointed.
Description: With only 600 men of Benjamin who survive the Battle at Gibeah, Israel is in danger of losing one of her tribes…permanently. Taking matters into their own hands, the Israelites travel down a dark road trying to fix a problem by human means and sin while claiming to be righteous.
Description: In the aftermath of the horrors of Judges 19, all Israel gathers together to wage war against the inhabitants of Gibeah and the rest of the tribe of Benjamin who decide to defend the evil men of Gibeah. God exercises justice on the Benjamites and only 600 survive this bloody civil war.
Description: Many Christians have only a limited knowledge of this most wonderful gift that God has given to His children: prayer. Because the power of prayer is misunderstood it to often goes unused. Today’s message on prayer is intended to educate and encourage us to follow the Biblical instructions on the use of this marvelous gift.
Description: Judges 19-21 covers the disturbing story of the complete canaanization of Israel. It’s a story that involves homosexuality, rape, murder, and dismemberment. It is perhaps the most disturbing story in all of Scripture.
Description: Judges 18 tells the story of how the Tribe of Dan became an epicenter for cultic worship. This is not an isolated story, but a snapshot in time illustrating the moral degeneration of Israel and the effects of sin.
Description: Judges 17 tells us of an Ephraimite named Micah whose way of life is indicative of the Israelites during this time in redemptive history. Micah steals from his own mother, fashions an idol and implements of worship, starts his own cult, hires his own priest, and somehow thinks that God will honor him and hear his prayers.

Description: The Lord has left Samson, and now Samson finds himself imprisoned, blinded, and in the most miserable state of his life. It is in these dark places where God can get our attention. We find out through Samson that a man can never be too far from the grace of God.
Description: Samson reveals his heart to the Philistine woman, Delilah, and God removes Samson’s strength. Samson is captured by the Philistines, his eyes are gouged out, and he is enslaved.
Description: God has built into mankind a void that people desire to fill. Many try to satisfy that need with what they believe to be a relationship with God. The majority of people in the United states would refer to themselves as being religious. The father of lies, Satan, is well aware of man’s emptiness and has many false religions to meet that need. Today we are going to see in the Book of James the clear difference between superficial religion and supernatural religion. At the conclusion of the message, the listener is challenged to do a self test. It’s a chance to see if you indeed are a born again Christian.
