SBC Host:You heard Him. The finality and decisiveness of the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins is such that God declares that, in Christ, our sins are as good as forgotten.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Hebrews and explains that because of this, there will never be a need for another sin atoning sacrifice.
Christ has done it all! …His words spoken at the cross, proven true: “It is finished.”
…Perhaps one of the most mysterious characters of the Old Testament.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Genesis and explains that Melchizedek was not only the king of Salem (a place that we presently identify as Jerusalem), but he was also a priest of God. What made this king and priest mysterious, though, was that he foreshadowed – and pointed expectations forward – to the perfect, Kingly reign and Priesthood of Jesus Christ.
Description: Judges 18 tells the story of how the Tribe of Dan became an epicenter for cultic worship. This is not an isolated story, but a snapshot in time illustrating the moral degeneration of Israel and the effects of sin.
Description: Judges 17 tells us of an Ephraimite named Micah whose way of life is indicative of the Israelites during this time in redemptive history. Micah steals from his own mother, fashions an idol and implements of worship, starts his own cult, hires his own priest, and somehow thinks that God will honor him and hear his prayers.
Description: Paul tells husbands that they are to love their wives as Christ loved the church, this is not only a “high bar” this is an impossibility. Paul doesn’t tell husbands this to dismay them but rather to point out the Christo-centric aspect of marriage and provide us a view of marriage that is based on the gospel and based specifically in the way that Christ related or ministered to His bride, the church.
