Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Key Text: Zechariah 4:6-10

Description:

Have you ever questioned whether your quiet acts of faithfulness really make a difference?

…Maybe it’s setting up chairs, praying for someone year after year, or simply striving to remain steady in the daily grind

— it can all feel so small.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Zechariah where you see if you’re feeling this way, you’re not alone. In our passage, God speaks directly to this discouragement.

He reminds His people — He reminds us — that His purposes are not fulfilled by human strength, but by His Spirit.

In His hands, mountains are leveled, temples are completed, and no act of faith — however small — is ever wasted.

You’re not alone.

Because the people of God in Zechariah’s day felt the same way. SBC logo 204x204

But then Zechariah was given an emboldening reassurance. God’s word, God’s plan revealed and spoken through God’s angel:

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Zechariah

Key Text: Zechariah 3:6-10

Description:

We REJOICE because of our salvation!
We REJOICE because His grace abounds and saves!

But, just why is it that we rejoice??

…Is it because we’ve escaped judgment? (Of course!)
…But is there something more??

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Zechariah where we have seen from the vision that Joshua the high priest has been cleansed, filthy garments removed—he has been saved.

But now, God speaks:

He calls Joshua to obedience, gives him a promise, and points him to Someone greater — the coming Servant, the Branch, the Cornerstone.

SBC logo 204x204

For what we see through this vision is that His saving us through His grace, is just the beginning… because grace not only saves, it TRANSFORMS.

Satan is ready to condemn: “Look at him covered in sin! He’s mine!

SBC logo 204x204

But then, something incredible happens… God, Himself, intervenes — with all-knowing knowledge of the Lamb slain for sinners — rebukes the accuser: NO SATAN! Legally, he’s MINE.

Have you ever felt like you were in ruins?

— needing to rebuild… but not even knowing how to piece life back together?

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Zechariah in which we learn that that was the reality of his day. For the nation of Judah — the remnant of Israel — had returned from exile to Jerusalem, only to find their once-great city in ruins.

How could it be restored??

They were discourage, vulnerable, and uncertain about the future.

SBC logo 204x204

But in Zechariah 2, God gives them —God gives us— a vision that defies human expectation:

A CITY WITHOUT WALLS.

…a place of expansion, security, and glory — secured not by walls, BUT BY GOD HIMSELF, who is both its protector and dwelling place.

The Son is Supreme [Colossians 1:15-20]

December 29, 2024

SBC frame line - current sermons

Sermon Notes

Date: 12/29/2024

Preacher: Josh Peglow, pastor

Series: Colossians

Key Text: Colossians 1:15-20

Description:

“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.”

— Colossians 1:16

Heaven and earth. Visible and invisible. They’re not just a poetic way of communicating; they’re a powerful way of expressing totality.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues with our study in the book of Colossians, where we see Paul masterfully and artistically describe Christ using merisms:  a style in which, by contrasting extremes, the communicator is able to more completely express a level of comprehensiveness… of wholeness — from the very ends, to all points in between.

SBC logo 204x204

This is critical as Paul lays a necessary foundation about Christ in the first part of his letter to the people of Colossae. It’s a foundation that paints a breathtaking picture of the Lord Jesus Christ’s supremacy and centrality to all of creation.

For he is not just saying that Christ is significant; he is saying that Christ is everything.

Christ Alone, Our Only Hope [John 1:1-18]

November 24, 2024

SBC frame line - current sermons

Sermon Notes

Date: 11/24/2024

Preacher: David Teves, deacon

Key Text: John 1:1-18

Description:

Careful… where you put your hope.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Deacon David Teves reminds us — though the noise of this world may clamor otherwise — we have no hope in leaders, politicians, or even pastors.

Our only hope is Christ, alone.

Christ is God.
Christ is Creator of the universe.
Christ is Savior of the world.

No other leader can say that!

SBC logo 204x204

The love Christ has for us and the work He has done for us should lead us to hearts of thankfulness and gratitude. It should give us a desire to be in His Word and to seek Him above all else.

For presidents and governors will come and go, but Christ reigns forever.

Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 11/10/2024

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Romans

Key Text: Romans 16:1-16, 21-23

Description:

Every single person, every single act of service, matters deeply to God.

This includes you.

— That’s the heart of Paul’s message.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao nears the end of our study in the book of Romans where we find Paul seemingly rolling the credits of acknowledge for the conclusion of his letter.

SBC logo 204x204

But upon closer inspection, we discover he is not just listing names, but honoring individuals — teachers, hosts, friends, and those who have worked tirelessly in the background — because it all does matter to God.

God’s vision for the church values every member, every gift, and every quiet labor of love. This isn’t just Paul’s list; it’s a picture of what it means to belong to a family of faith.
