Preacher: Keith Barker, elder

Key Text: Isaiah 55

SBC logo 204x204Description: “Come”…. The inviting, guiding word seen throughout the Bible. Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Elder Keith Barker shows us that the word “come” is found all throughout the Bible; in fact, the phrase “come to Me” is found 335 times! And in our text today out of Isaiah 55, we see that the word “come” appears three times in just the first verse alone! It’s a verse that begins a beautiful picture of the overflow of the results of the work Jesus did on the cross to make our salvation possible. And thus, in a sense, making the Bible one great, loving invitation to fallen humanity.

Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 11/20/2016

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Genesis

Key Text: Genesis 13

SBC logo 204x204Description: Are you resting in the promises of God?  Abram did.

He gave his nephew, Lot, choice of the land. His nephew looked around – and even though the people who lived there were exceedingly wicked – his choice was clear: the fertile valley. It was lush, and it pleased him.

Abram gave up his preference of the land and instead rested in the promises of God.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Genesis and shares with us that, oftentimes, the way of the Christian may not seem as profitable as the way of the world. Lot’s way was fertile, and the people lived in cities. Abram’s way was arid, and he lived in tents. But while one way sees the “fertile valley” and a future of possibilities, the other is the sure way. …For it sees the living God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 11/13/2016

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Genesis

Key Text: Genesis 12:10-13:4

SBC logo 204x204Description: Spiritual Giant or Faithless Coward? What do you think of when you hear the name Abraham?

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Genesis and shows us that

Abraham is often described as the “Father of the Faith”

…but as we will see in our message, Abraham is given that title not because of his mighty faith and obedience (because just like you and I, he falls short), but because he is the spiritual father of all who believe the promises of God. In other words, it’s not Abraham’s faith that earns him the epitaph… but rather our Almighty God who is proven faithful.

SBC logo 204x204Description: Many folks, with the best of intentions, sit each week in their favorite church pew and are presented with a lovely talk that comes close to being from the Word of God.

The man up front is wearing a nice suit, has a traditional hair cut, a big Bible, and a degree in theology.

He reads a passage and then gives a stirring and interesting talk. The congregation all listen intently, shake hands, smile, and go home… feeling like, by attending church, they’ve done their bit to please God.

In today’s message we are going to be taught – by Jesus’ own words – a Truth that could make some folk reassess their relationship with the Lord Jesus.
