Date: 12/30/2018

Preacher: Keith Barker, elder

Key Text: Psalm 46:1-10

Description:

Average Guy: I’m trying to listen to God, but I just don’t hear Him.

Scandia Host: Shhhh…. In our busy lives it’s often a challenge to slow down enough to actually come to a full stop and listen. For what we’ll find is that our desire and ability to listen to God is in direct correlation with who we consider Him to be.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Elder Keith Barker shares that too often we as Christians neglect the wonderful access and fellowship opportunities we have with our and Lord and Savior, because we fail to follow the clear and simple instructions found in Psalm 46:10:

December 24, 2018

Sermon Notes

Date: 12/24/2018

Description: Merry Christmas and welcome to our Scandia Bible Church Christmas Eve Service, in the year of our Lord, 2018.

We’d like to invite you to grab a virtual pew, and join us as we gather on the evening of 24th of December to celebrate the night before the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. SBC logo 204x204

As is our custom for special services such as this, our worship is “family style”… as we celebrate with a mixture of scripture readings, congregational hymns, and good ol’ fashioned church family music… to tell the GREATEST story ever told, a story that only God could have penned.

Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 12/16/2018

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Revelation

Key Text: Revelation 4

Description: We’ve read the seven letters to the churches of Asia Minor… which when taken in totality are a letter to the church as a whole, as well.

…So if that’s the case, how do you get the eyes of the church off of their circumstances as they look to the Lord for strength in all their trials?

SBC logo 204x204Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues are study in the book of Revelation and helps us answer that question by pointing us to God in His splendor and sovereignty.

You see, the bigger God is to us, the smaller are the assaults of this present evil age… not because they are insignificant, but rather because they are put into perspective next to the God of the universe who is worthy of all praise.

Series: Revelation

Key Text: Revelation 3:10-11

Description:

“Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” – Revelation 3:10

Revelation 3:10 – one of the most contested verses in this book of the Bible.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Revelation by taking a moment to unpack this particular verse. SBC logo 204x204

Let’s face it, while everyone in the church agrees that Christ is coming again, not everyone agrees on how it plays out. And while there are multiple interpretive frameworks regarding the book of Revelation, how you interpret what it means for “God to keep us” reveals much about the framework you operate from.

Missionary Update

Missionary David Hardin and his family stopped by to worship with us this Sunday. Many years ago, David grew up in our church, and now he is a Missionary to the Tarahumara people of the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico through Mexico Medical Missions. Though he did not preach today, he did give us an update, and with that an unexpected insight into something we all too easily take for granted.
