Description: It’s a subject that most would rather ignore, but all agree is certain: DEATH. And inextricably linked to this inevitability is an even more avoided topic: JUDGEMENT.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Hebrews and reminds us how the Scriptures necessarily tie death and judgment together. After all, death comes as the consequence of sin.

But we need to understand, death is NOT the end… rather, it’s the BEGINNING of eternity — an eternity where we either enter into the fullness of joy in the presence of our Heavenly Father, or an eternity filled with condemnation when we are cast into the lake of fire.

Because you see, which eternity becomes your destiny, hinges on that very topic most of us would rather not ponder: JUDGEMENT.

Because you see when we start comparing ourselves to our neighbor to estimate our standing in the Heavenly Court — the devil only laughs.

When you understand that the comparison has never been with your neighbor — but with the Almighty, Infinite God of the Universe — you indeed realize, that right from the beginning, you were DEAD.

Avg Guy: Wait a minute! Blood, that’s an Old Covenant thing. I mean with all the goat sacrifices and such.

SBC Host: I understand. But that doesn’t mean the NEW Covenant is not without blood — Christ’s.

Avg Guy: Good point.

SBC Host: The question is not about whether there is blood, but rather, when it comes to the blood that God requires for us to be right in His eyes, how does the blood sacrifice of animals pale in comparison to the blood sacrifice of Jesus?
