True Prayer [Matthew 6:7-10]

Sermon Notes

Date: 08/30/2026

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Matthew

Key Text: Matthew 6:7-10

Description:

…Yeah.

Jesus said,

“When you are praying,
do not use meaningless repetition
as the Gentiles do,
for they suppose that they will be heard
for their many words.”

Today, Pastor Monty continues our study
in the Gospel of Matthew —

as Jesus teaches His disciples
that true prayer is not about multiplying words
to gain God’s attention.

Your Father already knows
what you need
before you ask Him.

So the question is not,
“How much can I say?”

But rather:

Does my prayer exist
to bend God to my desires —

or to bend my heart
to His?
