Monty Simao 2014Sermon Notes

Date: 01/02/2022

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Advent

Key Text: Isaiah 9:1-7; Luke 1:26-38

Description:

The angel, Gabriel, was God’s messenger.

For God had a message that would not only break 400 years of His silence, but would announce the birth of two sons: John and Jesus — the Baptizer and the Christ.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues in his Advent series this season, further telling us about the greatest miracle of all: the birth of Jesus.

John the Baptist played a crucial part, though, for he was sent by God to prepare the way for Jesus. And while the story of Jesus’ birth is one that we are all familiar with, what we can often miss is that every aspect, of this story we know so well, is rooted in the prophesies of God concerning the Messiah.

And Jesus fulfilled them all.

Key Text: Revelation 10

Description: And then John looks up and sees an image that makes Colossus of Rhodes look small and the gods of the Roman pantheon look… well, weak.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues our study in the book of Revelation in which witness right along with John… a mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud, rainbow on his head, and face shining like the sun with feet like pillars of fire.

And yet, as breathtaking as this image is… this amazing being is just simply one of God’s servants do His bidding.
