Sin’s Snowball [Esther 1:10-22]

August 16, 2026

Sermon Notes

Date: 08/16/2026

Preacher: Josh Peglow, pastor

Series: Esther

Key Text: Esther 1:10-22

Description:

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues with our study in the book of Esther, where Queen Vashti’s refusal of the king’s command sends his wounded pride spiraling into anger.

And instead of repentance, the king reaches for damage control.

But sin has a way of snowballing.

One sinful choice leads to another. Pride gives way to panic. And before long, a personal humiliation becomes an empire-wide decree.

Yet beneath all of the pride, foolishness, and grasping for control, God remains absolutely sovereign.

And while King Ahasuerus uses his power to protect his own glory, Jesus Christ leaves heavenly glory to deal with our sin.

Because the answer to sin is not better damage control.

It’s a Savior.

Sermon Notes

Date: 01/25/2026

Preacher: Josh Peglow, pastor

Series: Colossians

Key Text: Colossians 3:18-21

Description:

You have died with Christ.
You have been raised with Christ.
And now, your life is hidden in Christ.

A reality that reaches into every part of your life.

And nowhere is it more revealing
than at home.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast,
Pastor Josh Peglow continues our study in the book of Colossians,
where Paul brings the new life we have in Christ
into our most intimate relationships —

between husbands and wives,
and parents and children.

His words are challenging —
especially in a culture that resists God’s design.

Yet Paul isn’t calling us to a peace of convenience,
bent to mirror the culture of the day.

Paul’s point is clear:

If Christ is Lord,His Lordship doesn’t stop at the doors of the church,
but continues through the doors of our homes.
