Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Romans in which we see Paul strike upon the key to understanding the Gospel: “the obedience of faith.” …words that seemingly don’t belong together.

For obedience is all about YOU — following the rules, adhering to the Law… but faith is different: It’s about HIM — and putting your trust and belief in the Gospel.

…Making “the obedience of faith” simply a command to believe.

For while the Law says DO-DO-DO… the Gospel says DONE.

Apostle Paul: [dictating] Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord…

Bible scholars agree: Of all his epistles, Paul’s letter to the Romans stands out.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao embarks upon a new study in the book of Romans— a letter that many not only credit as Paul’s magnum opus, but as the clearest articulation of the Gospel found anywhere in the Scriptures.

The Unchanging One [Hebrews 13:8]

In the fifth century, the philosopher Heraclitus observed,

“There is nothing permanent except change.”

To be clear, he wasn’t rejoicing in new things but pessimistically concluding that all good things come to an end.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Hebrews and shows us how as Christians we can have an entirely different outlook on life because we know the unchanging One.

While it is true that changes often happen for the worse, it is also true that the Lord Jesus never changes; and as He helped the saints of the past, He will also help us in the present, and even the future — for what is unknown to us is known to Him, and He will prepare our way.

Called to Serve Him in Africa — the Freitas Family [Luke 14:16-21]

Description: Ten years, one ambitious vision: 100 million people touched with the gospel around the world. Those are the marching orders of Reach Global, the international arm of the Evangelical Free Church of America, which exists to multiply healthy churches among all people for the glory of God.

Today we are joined by Scandia Bible Church supported Reach Global Missionary, Tony Freitas — a man, together with his family, called by God to faithfully serve the people of Tanzania, Africa. They are living, as Tony says,

“…a life of serving the poorest of the poor. It’s a tough life but there is nothing that I could possibly imagine to be more fulfilling than serving the Lord! I am not a formal pastor and have not been to seminary, yet God has clearly called our family to serve Him in Africa to use the gifts that he has given each of us. As 1 Peter 4:10 states, ‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of Gods grace in its various forms.’”
