Sermon Notes
Date: 10/25/2026
Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor
Series: Matthew
Key Text: Matthew 6:25-34
Description:
Consider the birds of the air. Consider the lilies of the field.
…Do THEY worry?
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues our study in the Gospel of Matthew —
where Jesus confronts the futility of worry and calls His disciples to a different kind of security.
We plan. We prepare. We try to anticipate what tomorrow might bring.
But somewhere along the way, responsible preparation can all too easily become anxious obsession —as though the future rests entirely in our hands.
Yet if our heavenly Father provides for the birds and the lilies, how much more will He care for His own children?
And if He has already given us His Son, what does that tell us about His faithfulness?
Perhaps the answer to tomorrow’s worries begins with remembering Whose hands hold tomorrow.

Sermon Notes
Date: 10/18/2026
Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor
Series: Matthew
Key Text: Matthew 6:19-24
Description:
Your possessions. Your security. Everything you thought would make you happy. Everything you worked so hard for.
— What if it was all taken away tomorrow?
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues our study in the Gospel of Matthew —
as Jesus confronts the dangerous hold that earthly treasure can have upon the human heart.
For what if, in gaining everything this world has to offer, you lose sight of what matters most?
Jesus teaches us that no one can serve two masters.
And He warns that where our treasure is, our hearts will follow.
Yet Christ offers riches that wealth can never purchase —
the enduring riches of God’s grace.
The question, then, is not simply what you possess…
but what possesses you?

Sermon Notes
Date: 10/11/2026
Preacher: David Teves, pastor
Series: Galatians
Key Text: Galatians 2:11-16
Description:
He preached it.
He believed it.
He knew the truth of the gospel.
But when the pressure came, his actions told a different story.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor David Teves continues our study in the book of Galatians —
where the Apostle Paul confronts Peter for conduct that contradicts the very gospel he professes.
And in that confrontation, Paul exposes a danger that still threatens the church today.
The temptation to measure our standing before God — and one another — by something other than Christ.
But the gospel leaves no room for a righteousness of our own.
We are justified through faith in Christ, not by works of the law.
And those who have received this grace are called to walk in step with its truth.

Sermon Notes
Date: 10/04/2026
Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor
Series: Matthew
Key Text: Matthew 6:16-18
Description:
Are you too full to hunger for God?
For we live in a world where almost every appetite can be satisfied on demand.
We eat when we’re not hungry. We consume without thinking. And yet, somehow — we’re never quite satisfied .
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues our study in the Gospel of Matthew —
as Jesus turns our attention to the often-neglected discipline of fasting.
But fasting is not about earning favor with God.
For Christ has already accomplished what our self-denial never could.
And so, fasting becomes not a means of proving our righteousness, but an expression of our longing —
for the Bridegroom who has come, and the heavenly banquet that is yet to come.
