Service Notes
Date: 03/29/2024, Good Friday
Description:
GOOD FRIDAY — a mark in history that would forever affect eternity.
And welcome to our Scandia Bible Church Good Friday Service for the year of our Lord, 2024.
We invite you to pull of a virtual pew and join us as we reflect on the selfless words of our Lord and Savior… words meant for us — to teach, to comfort, to give us hope — even as he was undergoing the horrific death of crucifixion.
For it was a *GOOD* Friday…
…but only because Sunday would be the GREATEST day of all!

Sermon Notes
Date: 03/23/2024, Palm Sunday
Preacher: David Teves, deacon
Key Text: John 12:12-19
Description:
They hailed Him, King!
…the king who had come to save them —the Jewish people— from the oppression of the Romans.
But, instead (fulfilling Old Testament prophecy), Jesus —just five days before what would be Good Friday— humbly entered Jerusalem, not on a white steed, but a gray donkey… symbolizing peace, not war.
Today on this Palm Sunday, Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Deacon David Teves examines a passage that most just see as a historical account of the path Jesus took to the cross. But is it more than that?
Does this passage have relevancy for US today?
…And if so, how can we apply it to our lives?

VINDICATED and VICTORIOUS.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues with our study in the book of 1 Peter and shows us how Christ’s suffering unites us with His victory.
Having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit… Christ died — the Just for the unjust — for sins, once for all.… so that He might bring us to the One in heaven whose right hand He sits: GOD.

Notes:
Putting the differing theological theories to the test:
- Where did Jesus go?
- When did Jesus go?
- What did He do there?
- Who was His audience?
- How well does this fit with Peter’s overall message of Christ’s suffering, victory, and vindication in chapter3, verses 18-22?
“When you have eliminated all that which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
— Sherlock Holmes

Key Text: 1 Peter 3:13-17
Description:
Always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you…. For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.
1 Peter 15b, 17
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues with our study in the book of 1 Peter in which we learn that it is when we, the believer, face the strongest opposition, we are most often used of God.
For when we endure suffering — while maintaining good works and sharing Christ — we are able to demonstrate, for all to see, the HOPE we have within.

Description:
Questions. Questions that comfort… while at the same time challenge the depths of our faith, and the breadth of our understanding of God’s love.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Romans in which we explore a passage that demonstrates the unshakeable love of God in Christ Jesus — a love that transcends our trials, our fears, and even our weaknesses.
This is not just theology for the mind, though;
it’s a balm for the soul, especially in times when our faith is tested by the trials of life.
