Key Text: 2 Timothy 1:8-2:2; Matthew 28:18-20

Church: Mission Control, this is Church. Do you copy?

Mission Control: This is Mission Control. We’re reading you loud and clear, Church. Continue with transmission.

Church: Yeah… what are we supposed to do again??

______________

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study on The Church, looking this time at its mission… a topic which certainly opens up questions and, sometimes, confusion.

Questions like: Who defines the mission? Do churches come up with their own individual mission? Can the mission change to meet evolving cultural constructs from generation to generation?

With so many questions about the mission — coupled with the numerous contexts in which we use the word — it’s no wonder that some may question whether the church has a mission at all?

Date: 02/24/2019

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Revelation

Key Text: Revelation 7:9-17

Description: We’ve already been down the road of how the 144,000 Sealed Believers in chapter seven are a topic of controversy and confusion.

We’ve tackled the topic of who they are, and what the seal on the forehead means. SBC logo 204x204

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Revelation (and chapter 7) to help us make sense of how this chapter fits in with everything else in the book we’ve learned so far. For we now know the numbered people are seen as an innumerable multitude, and the fullness of God’s promises are seen to His glory.

Sermon Notes

Date: 03/11/2018

Preacher: Vasiliy Kaletnik, missionary

Key Text: 2 Corinthians 5:17-20

Description:

Scandia Host: If you are in Christ, you have been called to be a missionary.

Average Guy: I’m not a missionary??? I’m just sitting here in the pew.

Scandia Host: I get it. You better listen up though.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, we welcome back to our pulpit – after an eight year hiatus – Scandia Bible Church supported, missionary and brother in Christ, Vasiliy Kaletnik (of abwe.org)… who for nearly 30 years – since the fall of the USSR – has been preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the very poor and landlocked Eastern European country of Moldova. For all intents and purposes, he’s a modern day circuit preacher, preaching at five different churches during the week and three on Sunday – making disciples and baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Following Brother Vasiliy, Pastor Monty echoes a short sermon… that no matter where we are in the world – whether it be in Moldova or Poulsbo – we, as Christians, are all missionaries: we share the same calling, same message, and serve the same Lord with Christ as the head.
