The nations rage… rulers rebel… and the world trembles under its own defiance.
What hope is there when chaos seems to sit on the throne?

For though the world resists God’s reign, He is not shaken.
He laughs.

And He installs His King — His beloved Son — upon the throne.
In this season of Advent, we remember that the child laid in a manger is no mere infant…
but the King of kings, destined to rule the nations with justice and mercy.
Psalm 2 calls us to rightly respond:
to bow the knee,
to kiss the Son in reverent trust,
and to find refuge in the only sovereign who can save. For though the nations rage… the Son still reigns.
We have a great NEED — and, by His grace — a great SAVIOR.

For we know that Christ saves us “by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone,” but even so, we may not yet see some of the practical results of this justification by faith alone.

What we’ll find is that through correct doctrine, we have the proper lens in which to view the world, especially in the face of life’s difficulties.

For we find him laying a foundation of gospel truth that when correctly understood makes those questions we started with go away… and can only result in praising our great God from whom all blessings flow.
And [the jailer] called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, and after he brought them out, he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Romans in which we see Paul strike upon the key to understanding the Gospel: “the obedience of faith.” …words that seemingly don’t belong together.
For obedience is all about YOU — following the rules, adhering to the Law… but faith is different: It’s about HIM — and putting your trust and belief in the Gospel.
…Making “the obedience of faith” simply a command to believe.
For while the Law says DO-DO-DO… the Gospel says DONE.

Bible scholars agree: Of all his epistles, Paul’s letter to the Romans stands out.

In the fifth century, the philosopher Heraclitus observed,
