What are you doing here?
That was the question God posed to Elijah
as he stood at the mouth of the cave.
But it was not a question for Elijah alone.
It is was also a question for us.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast,
Derek Orn brings us to the life of Elijah —
a prophet who had seen the power of God,
and yet found himself weary,
afraid,
and ready to be done.
In that place, God did not meet him
according to what Elijah deserved,
but according to who God is.
Faithful in mercy.
Faithful in His Word.
Faithful to call His servant forward.
But the question
does not stay with Elijah:
What are we doing here?
What are you doing here?
Are you coming before the Lord
to manage a transaction?
…Or to hear from the God
whose faithfulness
is our only hope?
