Fickle Men, Sovereign God [Esther 2:1-22]

September 27, 2026

Sermon Notes

Date: 09/27/2026

Preacher: Josh Peglow, pastor

Series: Esther

Key Text: Esther 2:1-12

Description:

Kings do.

Counselors do.

People do.

But God does not.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast,
Pastor Josh Peglow returns to the book of Esther —

where changing minds,
shifting plans,
and human weakness
keep moving the story forward.

King Ahasuerus reverses course.
His counselors offer another solution.
Esther is drawn into the machinery
of the Persian court.

But while men change,
God does not.

His purposes do not shift.
His faithfulness does not fail.
And His sovereign hand
is never absent from the story.

Because though men are fickle
and earthly rule arbitrary,

God remains sovereign —
and faithful to His people.
