To those who “abandon” Him, He “abandons” them… and gives them over to the consequences of their own sin.

When man demands life on his own terms, God essentially says,
“Have it your way.”
…And without God’s restraint of sin, there is no limit to man’s depravity.

…The sole possession of those who have trusted in Christ.
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Josh Peglow continues with our study in the book of 1 Peter in which we see the apostle begin his letter with an encouragement to praise God for the amazing salvation we have in Christ — a living hope brought about by Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.
For because of His mercy we have a reservation in heaven, guarded by God, to obtain an inheritance — an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and that (as it says in the King James) fadeth not away.

When looking at the structure of the Church, you can’t help but come across the diaconate — deacons.
But just what is a deacon?
Why are they needed?
And what do they do??
Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao takes a necessary break in our study in the book of Romans to further our understanding of deacons — because this morning we’re installing not one, but two!
We’ll see that while the deacon certainly plays a special role in the Church, their role isn’t far off from ours:
