Description: Chapters 4-6 of Genesis show us the fullness of sin as it takes dominion in the hearts of men. In the opening verses of Chapter 4, that we covered last week, we saw the complete spectrum of human experience from righteous worship to heinous murder. This week, as we study the second half of Genesis 4, we see the formation of culture and the sinfulness that permeates throughout.

Description: If your life is a challenge, be encouraged that you are a normal human being. The Bible tells us that there will be ongoing trials, testing and temptations. Christianity will not make you immune. The only difference for a Christian is that they can rest in absolute confidence that their loving God is with them. This truth is developed beautifully in the first verses in the Book of James.
Description: The last five verses of Genesis Chapter 3 give us a glimpse into the work that Christ would accomplish and a picture of substitutionary atonement. We are left with a picture of a God who is a Savior and who will bring about good in the midst of man’s sin and rescue Adam’s fallen race from their sin and misery.
Description: God placed Adam and Eve in a holy temple we call the Garden of Eden. There they would enjoy unrestricted access and fellowship with God as God covenanted with them and gave them the world. And in all of God’s creation, there was only one thing He forbid and that was the eating of a single fruit. How could Adam and Eve throw it all away? How angry God must have been by there disobedience, and yet even as God pronounced a curse upon the wayward couple, He announced His plan to rescue them.
Description: Genesis Chapter 3 is one of the most pivotal and important chapters in all of scripture. It records man’s darkest hour as Adam and Eve commit the first sin against God and plunge the entire human race into sin and rebellion against the Creator God who created the world that He once could pronounce as “very good”, but now no longer.
Description: The duties that a husband has toward his wife is not only a picture of atonement as Paul instructs husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her…but also a picture of sanctification as Paul provides the goal of the husband’s sacrifice and that is to sanctify his wife that he might present her to the Lord.
Description: How does one live a victorious Christian life? It’s a mystery to many Christians. For many think that it can only come through years of service on the mission field or perhaps 20 years in the pastorate. Yet Jesus spelled it out simply in His everyday teaching as He walked the earth. Today’s message is an effort to clearly and simply offer precious insights to believers, young and old, on the path to a deeper walk with the Lord.
Description: What does it mean to love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her? This sermon looks at the husband’s responsibilities to the wife in light of the offices of Christ and His ministry to His bride, the church.
Description: We wrestle. We struggle. Everyday. Why? …Because we are under attack. Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, brother Louie Bond fills in behind the pulpit to remind us of this battle – a battle that has been described as making all other battles seem as sport and child’s play. It’s a spiritual battle – not one that happened in historical past, but one that is happening RIGHT NOW, and it concerns everyone. There are no neutrals in this battle, you must choose a side. Because you see in this battle – whose very stage is your soul – you are either for God and against Satan…or for Satan and against God.
Description: Marriage is defined by God as God is its author. God has given husbands and wives different but complementary roles and responsibilities in marriage. Today we live in a culture that not only has usurped God’s authority in redefining marriage, but has also pushed for role androgyny in every area of life. Now, more than ever, the clarity of Scripture is needed to bring the light of truth to these areas.

Description: As church-attending-Christians we hear the same scriptures repeated over the years. They tend to become so familiar that we no longer listen to the little details. The passage in this message has some wonderful insights that are too often overlooked. May the Lord slow each of us down to the place where we can fully grasp what the Bible is telling us in this amazing section from Luke 23.
Description: The Bible calls woman the “glory of man.” This is a wonderful expression used to describe God’s greatest gift to man in creation. God created man for companionship, and as we’ll see in our passage, God provides for Adam this need as well.
Description: God placed Adam in a garden with all the benefits therein but commanded him not to eat from one particular tree. This was a covenant of works. Adam could continue in the paradise garden as long as he was obedient to God’s one command. Adam failed this test of obedience, and in Adam we all failed as well.
But God would send a Second Adam – a better Adam – Jesus Christ: One who would obey all the law perfectly, as well as pay the punishment for the sins of Adam’s fallen race, thereby purchasing salvation for His people.
Description: When you think of the word Sabbath, what comes to mind? For many of us the word sounds ominous and even burdensome. But if that’s the image that comes to our minds, we have missed the richness and wonder of this command. As we look at the opening verses of Genesis Chapter 2, we will see the beauty and understand more clearly what Jesus meant when He said that the Sabbath wasn’t made for man, but man for the Sabbath.
Description: What does it mean that man is made in the image of God? How is man special amidst all the other things that God created? What does God expect of man? All of these questions, and more, are answered in the few, short verses at the end of Genesis Chapter 1. These verses preeminently come against the moral revolution that is happening in the culture around us. Much of the moral debate comes down to a confusion and rebellion over what it means to be made in the Image of God.
Description: Most Christians don’t associate Easter with Passover. But with some study, one can see how they are beautifully interwoven into God’s perfect tapestry. The parallel of the Passover Lamb and our Lord Jesus — the perfect sacrificial Lamb of God — helps clarify in our minds the wonder of God’s plan for the salvation of believers.
Description: The doctrine of creation is not only under attack outside the church but from within as well. Christians have attempted to fit “millions of years” into the Genesis account by doing hermeneutical gymnastics to Genesis Chapter 1. The end result of these theories has been the undermining of not only the faith of countless Christians but the undermining of the Gospel itself!
