SBC logo 204x204Description: How does one live a victorious Christian life?  It’s a mystery to many Christians. For many think that it can only come through years of service on the mission field or perhaps 20 years in the pastorate. Yet Jesus spelled it out simply in His everyday teaching as He walked the earth. Today’s message is an effort to clearly and simply offer precious insights to believers, young and old, on the path to a deeper walk with the Lord.

It’s a spiritual battle – not one that happened in historical past, but one that is happening RIGHT NOW, and it concerns everyone. There are no neutrals in this battle, you must choose a side.  Because you see in this battle – whose very stage is your soul – you are either for God and against Satan…or for Satan and against God.

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Genesis

Key Text: Genesis 2:18-25 / Ephesians 5:25

SBC logo 204x204Description: Marriage is defined by God as God is its author. God has given husbands and wives different but complementary roles and responsibilities in marriage. Today we live in a culture that not only has usurped God’s authority in redefining marriage, but has also pushed for role androgyny in every area of life. Now, more than ever, the clarity of Scripture is needed to bring the light of truth to these areas.

Preacher: Keith Barker, elder

Key Text: Luke 23:33, 39-43

SBC logo 204x204Description: As church-attending-Christians we hear the same scriptures repeated over the years. They tend to become so familiar that we no longer listen to the little details. The passage in this message has some wonderful insights that are too often overlooked. May the Lord slow each of us down to the place where we can fully grasp what the Bible is telling us in this amazing section from Luke 23.

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Genesis

Key Text: Genesis 2:4-17

SBC logo 204x204Description: God placed Adam in a garden with all the benefits therein but commanded him not to eat from one particular tree.  This was a covenant of works.  Adam could continue in the paradise garden as long as he was obedient to God’s one command.  Adam failed this test of obedience, and in Adam we all failed as well.

But God would send a Second Adam – a better Adam – Jesus Christ: One who would obey all the law perfectly, as well as pay the punishment for the sins of Adam’s fallen race, thereby purchasing salvation for His people.

Key Text: Genesis 2:1-3

SBC logo 204x204Description: When you think of the word Sabbath, what comes to mind? For many of us the word sounds ominous and even burdensome.  But if that’s the image that comes to our minds, we have missed the richness and wonder of this command. As we look at the opening verses of Genesis Chapter 2, we will see the beauty and understand more clearly what Jesus meant when He said that the Sabbath wasn’t made for man, but man for the Sabbath.

Let Us Make Man in Our Image… [Genesis 1:26-31]

Date: 04/03/2016

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Genesis

Key Text: Genesis 1:26-31

SBC logo 204x204Description: What does it mean that man is made in the image of God?  How is man special amidst all the other things that God created?  What does God expect of man?  All of these questions, and more, are answered in the few, short verses at the end of Genesis Chapter 1.  These verses preeminently come against the moral revolution that is happening in the culture around us.  Much of the moral debate comes down to a confusion and rebellion over what it means to be made in the Image of God.

SBC logo 204x204Description: The doctrine of creation is not only under attack outside the church but from within as well.  Christians have attempted to fit “millions of years” into the Genesis account by doing hermeneutical gymnastics to Genesis Chapter 1.  The end result of these theories has been the undermining of not only the faith of countless Christians but the undermining of the Gospel itself!

SBC logo 204x204Description: The doctrine of creation is under attack. This is a battle of worldviews whereby the entire foundation of Christianity is being eroded and that erosion has drastic effect on our understanding of the fall, sin, death, and the truth of the Gospel. If we can’t trust Genesis 1:1, where exactly do we start believing the Bible?

SBC logo 204x204Description:  The first four words of the Bible, “In the beginning God…” declare what follows to be antithetical to all worldly philosophies and worldviews. Key Text: Revelation 4:1-11

SBC logo 204x204Description: It’s easy to become fascinated by the topic of End Times. The challenge is that many respected theologians disagree about this section of the Book of Revelation. Today we will present one view and seek to support it from other Scriptures. And while this view may not agree with yours, if the result of listening to this message leads you to further study, then the time is well spent. The caution, however, is that good is often the enemy of best.  …And the in-depth study of Christology is always the best.
