Description: In today’s message, we that a look at the second illustration that Paul provides on how a husband is to love his wife. That is, he is to love his wife as himself. This is bound up in a special unity that exists between husband and wife that doesn’t exist in any other relationship on earth. This unity is meant to reflect the unity that we have as the bride of Christ with our Lord and Bridegroom. What an amazing mystery.

Description: Looking back on recorded history we see the hand of God in all of man’s comings and goings. The Book of Ezekiel gives a fascinating insight into how our sovereign God deals with us. Romans 15:4 says, “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning…” There is a saying that a wise man seeks old wisdom. We can find that wisdom studying the book of Ezekiel.

Paul doesn’t tell husbands this to dismay them but rather to point out the Christo-centric aspect of marriage and provide us a view of marriage that is based on the gospel and based specifically in the way that Christ related or ministered to His bride, the church.
