Date: 06/05/2022

Preacher: Monty Simao, pastor

Series: Hebrews

Key Text: Hebrews 13:1-6

Description:

Have you ever considered how much of your future is unknown?

“What security do I have?”

“What promises can I bank on?”

“Which of my plans is foolproof?”

The more you dwell upon what is unknown, the greater the unknown becomes.  Eventually, you have to conclude that all of it is unknown.

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monty Simao continues with our study in the book of Hebrews and explains that contemplating the unknown can provide fodder for great anxiety.

But the Bible gives us a promise that is greater than all of the unknown…. a promise so great that we can look upon those things that once caused us anxiety with confidence — even boasting:

“I will not be afraid.”

Key Text: Isaiah 2:2-4; 1 Corinthians 13:13,8; Ephesians 4:11-13

Description:

“All good things must come to an end.”

Today on Scandia Bible Church Podcast, Pastor Monthy Simao preaches his final sermon for our study in the book of Revelation, in which he points out the many wonderful and good gifts the Lord has given to His church in this life.

Many of His good gifts, however, will come to an end. They will come to an end when this present evil age is over, and they no longer are needed.

For unlike the idiom we all know, stated at the beginning, which conveys negative emotions of acceptance that all things are temporary… with God, these things come to an end because they must make way for the better things that have arrived.

Key Text: Genesis 2:18-25 / Ephesians 5:25

SBC logo 204x204Description: Marriage is defined by God as God is its author. God has given husbands and wives different but complementary roles and responsibilities in marriage. Today we live in a culture that not only has usurped God’s authority in redefining marriage, but has also pushed for role androgyny in every area of life. Now, more than ever, the clarity of Scripture is needed to bring the light of truth to these areas.

Servants in Submission to Their Sovereign (part 5): Husbands [1 Peter 3:7]

May 23, 2010

Sermon Notes

Date: 05/23/2010

Preacher: Frank Acevedo, elder

Series: 1 Peter

Key Text: 1 Peter 3:7

Description: “Many today love traditional wedding ceremonies with biblical language who would be repulsed if they comprehended the meaning. A pledge to take a woman for his wife commits a man to sharing life in its entirety. Man and wife are heirs together of God’s gracious gift of one life. It demands of him selfless thoughtfulness of her. The New Testament repeatedly urges men to love their wives and be considerate towards them.” — Walter Chantry, THE SHADOW OF THE CROSS

Servants in Submission to Their Sovereign (part 4) [1 Peter 3:1-6]

May 9, 2010

Sermon Notes

Date: 05/09/2010

Preacher: Frank Acevedo, elder

Series: 1 Peter

Key Text: 1 Peter 3:1-6

Description: An unsaved husband can better be won to Christianity by seeing it work in his wife’s godly life — even, as the Apostle writes, without a word. To illustrate, Peter turns to the marriage of Sarah and Abraham as the quintessential example of how the holy women of former times submitted to their husbands.
