Description: Paul tells husbands that they are to love their wives as Christ loved the church, this is not only a “high bar” this is an impossibility. Paul doesn’t tell husbands this to dismay them but rather to point out the Christo-centric aspect of marriage and provide us a view of marriage that is based on the gospel and based specifically in the way that Christ related or ministered to His bride, the church.

The first is that the mention of “alcohol” opens a can of worms for many Christians and the second is that there is disagreement on what it means to be filled by the Holy Spirit and the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This sermon attempts to clear up any confusion and misconceptions regarding both of these areas and clearly outline what Paul means by this verse and why he makes such a comparison.
